More about me.
I grew up in Monroe, Louisiana and settled into a career in the grocery business from 1981 to 2009. In 2005 I was given a second chance in life under the guidance of a power greater than myself. In 2009 left my career in the grocery business behind, took a job at a substance use treatment center, and entered college in 2010. I completed my undergraduate degree in 2013 and entered graduate school later that year. I completed graduate school in 2015 and took a job as a counselor in Missouri. I received training and use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy. I also use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. I dedicated myself to helping individuals overcome trauma and addiction to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives. I focus on evidence-based practices for treating clients with depression, anxiety, OCD, and suicidal ideation. I work with clients throughout the lifespan beginning at 14 years old and up.

Whether our mental health issues are the result of past trauma, genetics, or poor lifestyle choice we can become overwhelmed with anxiety, depression, or just feel “stuck”. I believe part of being a therapist is empowering clients to overcome the lack of motivation, self-worth, or other barriers that prevent them from moving forward and thriving.
