Kate is a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor who is passionate about walking alongside others in their healing journeys. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois in 2006 and her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University.
Before becoming a therapist, Kate spent 19 years in vocational Christian ministry, where she had the privilege of supporting people in a wide range of life circumstances. Her experience includes discipling young adults navigating major transitions, mentoring women coping with anxiety and depression, offering guidance to families facing hardship, and counseling couples seeking restoration in their marriages.
Kate works with men, women, and children of all ages and life stages. She has particular interest in helping clients who are navigating grief and loss, trauma, life transitions, anxiety, depression, identity and self-worth concerns, and complex family dynamics.
Kate's goal in therapy is to engage with each person’s story with compassion and grace—helping clients gain deeper understanding, process their pain, and move toward hope and healing. Kate integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and also utilizes Internal Family Systems (IFS) from a Christian perspective. She has training in the Gottman method of marriage therapy. She seeks to counsel from a holistic framework that attends to the mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual dimensions of well-being.
Kate is married to Justin, and is a mom to two beautiful kids. She enjoys quality family time, catching up with friends, a delicious cup of coffee, and getting lost in a good book.
